Since there is no standard way to set file attributes on all types of FTP server, Merge does not implement this feature. This ensures that the password is not shown on the screen or within comparison reports. A password has not been specified, so Merge will assume an empty above, but specifying a password above, but specifying that Merge should use the relevant password from the Credentials options page. As for the previous example, the absence of a user name and password in the URI means that Merge will use the user name and password for the server configured on the Credentials options above, but also includes a user name to use when connecting to the FTP server. For anonymous access to an FTP server, create an entry on the Credentials page with the user name anonymous and your email address as the password.
